APHASIA INSTITUTE SCA™ CORE Training | WORKSHOP

In this 2-day online workshop: Participants develop an understanding of Supported Conversation for Adults with Aphasia (SCA™) theory, and demonstrate skill in SCA™ techniques through role-play. Participants then expand knowledge of SCA™ practicing techniques with clients; demonstrate skills relative to SCA™applications; and develop an implementation plan to enable communicative access in their workplace.

APHASIA INSTITUTE: 21st CLASS KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE SERIES | WEBINAR

A four part webinar series hosted by leading aphasia researchers on the following topics: Strategies to Integrate Communication Therapy and Daily Life Activities, A Case for Therapeutic Aphasia Assessment: An Adult Learning Approach, Supporting Functional Reading Tasks for People with Aphasia using TTS (text-to-speech technology), and Semantic Feature Analysis to Support Natural Conversation in Groups.

COGNITIVE ORIENTATION TO DAILY OCCUPATIONAL PERFORMANCE (CO-OP) | WORKSHOP

A multi-session workshop series provided by the Toronto Stroke Network (TSN) educating and training clinicians providing rehabilitative care to stroke survivors on a client-centred, performance-based, problem-solving approach that enables their clients’ achievement of goals through a process of strategy use and guided discovery.

TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE IN CLINICAL PRACTICE | WEBINAR

A two-part webinar series covering the principles of trauma-informed care and the neurobiological impacts of exposure to trauma across the lifespan. This series addressed the challenges individuals with a trauma history face when accessing healthcare and how to utilize a range of personal and organizational practices to implement trauma-informed healthcare services.

A five-part webinar series which occurred from February to September 2021 addressing the current practices in medical, psychosocial, and both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation for burn survivors.

Acquired background information and skills to deliver evidence-based cognitive rehabilitation interventions in a group setting. This course focused on higher level clients with executive dysfunction as their main barrier to independent living.

A two-day course reviewing the most current research and recommended clinical practices in dysphagia management.
